Steven Acker, D.O., a Board-Certified Orthopedic Surgeon, has been practicing for over 35 years, enthusiastically helping patients return to sports, jobs, and quality everyday living. Dr. Acker takes pride in treating all his patients with a combination of skill, compassion, and common sense. In addition to practicing Orthopedic Surgery, Dr Acker has also been involved in important leadership roles which have enhanced his understanding of the best way to be the best doctor. As a clinical and administrative leader, Dr. Acker has served in such positions as Chief of Surgery and Vice Chief of Staff. He has also served as the chairman of the State Board of Osteopathic Medicine in Michigan. Dr. Acker graduated from the University of Michigan and attended medical school at the University of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery in Des Moines, Iowa. His residency at Henry Ford Hospital, in Warren Michigan, included rotations at Albert Einstein Hospital in New York City, New York, and Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, Mass.
