What Will Happen?

During occupational therapy, the therapist assesses the individual’s strengths, limitations, and specific needs. They collaborate with the person to set meaningful goals and develop a personalized treatment plan. The therapy sessions may take place in various settings, including hospitals, rehabilitation centers, schools, or individuals’ homes.

Occupational therapists often work with individuals to address activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, eating, and household tasks. They may also focus on instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs) like cooking, managing finances, and using technology. Furthermore, occupational therapy can support individuals in areas such as work or school-related tasks, leisure and recreational activities, and social participation.

The Results

By providing therapeutic interventions, education, and support, occupational therapists empower individuals to regain or develop skills, adapt to challenges, and maximize their independence. They play a crucial role in helping people achieve their goals and engage in meaningful activities that promote overall well-being and enhance their quality of life.
