Mark Monton, PT, or “Macki”, as he is fondly called by his relatives and colleagues, is originally from Manila, Phillippines. He graduated in 2004 and started working as a Physical Therapy Faculty at the same University where he graduated from while also working as a part-time PT staff in a local hospital. He migrated to the United States in 2010 and started working at Synergy Health Partners Physical Therapy  as a Rehab Technician while preparing for his US PT Licensure Exam. He was offered a job as a Clinician right after he received his license, and has been working with  Synergy Health Partners Physical Therapy since.

Areas of Interest:
Orthopedics has been Macki’s main area of interest as early as his internship days while in PT school. He finds fulfillment in seeing patients improve in their function and return to their normal activities as they recover from their injuries. In the last few years, he has focused on Sports Medicine, working with athletes in their rehabilitation after complex surgeries and helping them to safely return to their respective sports. He has been taking courses and certification programs to further enhance his skills in this field.

Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA) Level 1 and Level 2 Certified Certified Y Balance Test Practitioner.

Hobbies:
Macki is an avid cyclist and has participated in many local bike races over the years. He specifically enjoys mountain biking but also enjoys road, gravel, and winter fat biking. He enjoys other outdoor activities, such as running, swimming, paddle boarding and hiking. On “lazy days,” he also enjoys cozying up in the couch with his wife and eight-year-old son to watch a movie.
