Fatema attended the Seth G S Medical College in Mumbai, India, and Oakland University in Michigan. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy in 1992 and Master’s degree in Physical Therapy in 1995. In addition, she earned the title of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapist in 2006 from Oakland University. Fatema has worked at Synergy Health Partners Physical Therapy since 2005. Before this, she had experience working in acute care, sub-acute rehab, and outpatient services. She has worked extensively in the orthopedic setting, with a specialty in treating spine pathologies. Fatema has been a part time faculty member at Wayne State University since 2016 where she serves as an instructional assistant for the physical therapy program. She has also done item writing for board exams with physical therapy students.
Fatema’s specialty is using advanced mobilization and manipulation techniques in the treatment of spine and extremity disorders. She is particularly interested in therapeutic exercises and continuing her education to continue providing an evidence-based practice.
Fatema loves to travel the world and explore new cultures. She also enjoys trekking through national parks in the United States.
